1. Can you tell us a little about your company?

Donna Bolton was inspired to open Canine Cubby, an Activity Centre for Dogs, after realising that there was an increasing demand for Professional Clipping and Grooming, hydrotherapy, doggie day care, and natural therapies for dogs in the Yatala / Ormeau area.

With people working longer hours and needing their dogs groomed, they are only able to do this on their days off, Canine Cubby wanted to change this and offer a crate free enviroment where they could bring their dogs in for grooming on the way to work or dropping the kids to school and then picking the dogs up after work or when they pick the kids up. Dogs are free to interact with other dogs whilst waiting to be groomed/clipped in a FUN, STRESS FREE, SOCIAL atmisphere.

What is new or what services you have right now in the grooming industry?

Canine Cubby has a new talanted gentle young groomer Linda who is showing our previous clients how good their dogs can look with new up to date grooming skills. Karen our Bather has also upskilled her tecneiques for a better finnish, our dogs now go home wearing either a bow for the girls and a bandana or tie for the boys which is hand made by our grooming team. Just to complete the finnished picture.

2) From your experience, what type of customers searches for your services? Who is your ideal/typical customer?

We have alot of working people that love bring their dogs to Canine Cubby as they are able to leave their dogs to play and enjoy themselves in a safe clean and well designed centre, with staff that know the clients by name. Our clients love the fact that their beloved family member is not locked in a cage.

3) What do you love the most of your business, what is the best part of your type of work?

As the owner and founder of Canine Cubby, I love the type of clients that are attracted to Canine Cubby, Owners that generally are interested in the general well being of their best friend, I love that we treat each of our clients as individuals and we are happy to share our knowledge with our canine owners, this maybe showing them how to groom out their dogs better, advise them on better grooming equipment to help mantain the coats better or to make the grooming at home easier and more effective. Because we are very thorough with our brushing and bathing we find ticks, lumps bumps or tender spots that owners have missed and giving them advise on what they can do. I love helping people care for their dogs.

4.) Please highlight some of your products, services of your company and the average/normal cost of each. Tell us a little about each service so our visitors know exactly the benefits of choosing your company.

Doggie Day Care

Does your dog spend many hours at home alone? Is your dog destructive, barks excessively, or has separation anxiety? Day care could help.

Why send your dog to day care?

Socialisation, manners, toilet training, stimulation, games to play, new things to learn, fun and exercise.

Supervision after surgery – dogs can be kept quiet, and have the advantage of hydrotherapy, Reiki, and magna therapy, which may aid in faster recovery time.

Puppies gain socialisation skills, and regular meals can be provided. Donna recommends that puppies attend day care weekly to ensure growth into happy, well adjusted dogs.

Dogs can attend Canine Cubby for day care as often as you like, with most dog owners opting for a regular routine of weekly or fortnightly visits.
